The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpogholor, on the floor of the Edo State House of Asembly said that the budget figures is confusing him.
Okpogholor who could not pronounce the figures in the budget correctly after several attempts said “it is confusing me”.
The video of the Edo State governor’s budget presentation has since then gone viral on social media, with a lot of mix reactions from Nigerians.
Responding to the viral video on social media, the APC Edo Sate Chairman, Jarret Tenebe said the Governor is not a thief, so he is not familiar with figures.
“Social media has been gauged with the Governor’s budget presentation and the mistake on N650n. It is a normal thing. Humans and a lot of people make such mistakes. I don’t know figures”. You see, that is how to know original innocent people. Monday is not a thief; he is not familiar with figures. So anybody who wants to talk can continue talking his nonsense. He is the Governor of the state, he is performing, and he will continue to perform. And anybody who does not like his face should go to hell and burn to ashes. Period!”
Tenebe also made comments on social in response saying, “Some people will have to excuse us from Edo now, and if they refuse we may force them out starting with you”
The budget titled “The Budget for Renewed hope for the rising Edo” is estimated at N605b reflecting a 25 per cent increase from the 2024 budget
