The ruling All Progressives Congress has released its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, pegging its presidential nomination form at N100 million and the governorship form at N50 million as the party moves to begin its internal selection process. Reports on Monday night said the schedule was signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, and announced by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka in Abuja.
Under the timetable, presidential aspirants are expected to pay N30 million for the expression of interest form and N70 million for the nomination form, bringing the total to N100 million. Governorship aspirants will pay N10 million for expression of interest and N40 million for nomination, making a total of N50 million. Senate aspirants are to pay N20 million, House of Representatives aspirants N10 million, and State House of Assembly hopefuls N6 million.
The party also retained its concession policy for certain categories of aspirants. Female aspirants, youths and persons living with disabilities will pay only the expression of interest fee and half of the nomination fee for whichever office they seek.
According to the APC schedule, sale of forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja will run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while the deadline for submission of completed forms is May 4. Screening for State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and governorship aspirants is fixed for May 6 to May 8, while presidential aspirants will be screened on May 9. Screening results are due on May 11, with appeals scheduled for May 12 and May 13.
The presidential primary is scheduled for May 15 to May 16, 2026. House of Representatives primaries will hold on May 18, Senate primaries on May 20, State House of Assembly primaries on May 21, and governorship primaries on May 23. Appeals are to follow immediately after each exercise, with the governorship appeal set for May 25.
The timetable aligns broadly with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s revised schedule for the 2027 general elections. INEC says party primaries, including resolution of disputes, are to run between April 23 and May 30, 2026, while the presidential and National Assembly elections are fixed for January 16, 2027, and governorship and State House of Assembly polls for February 6, 2027.
In announcing the schedule, the APC said it remained committed to conducting a credible and transparent primary process that would strengthen internal democracy and consolidate the party’s progressive ideals.
