Former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Senator Kabiru Marafa, has issued a strong warning to President Bola Tinubu, declaring that he will ensure the president loses at least one million votes in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, the ex-lawmaker, who once served as the Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Zamfara State, said he is determined to prove his political strength ahead of the next polls.
“Now, whether Mr President would win or not is a question of seeing, but I want to assure you something today. I am going to deduct one million votes out of Mr President’s votes that he got in 2023. Mark my words. 2027 is going to determine who is a featherweight,” Marafa declared.
The former senator had earlier confirmed his resignation from the APC on Sunday, ending his long-standing affiliation with the ruling party. His defection marks a significant shift in Zamfara’s political landscape, where he was once a strong supporter of President Tinubu.
Marafa’s statement highlights increasing political tension as Nigeria approaches the 2027 elections. Analysts suggest that his move could influence voting dynamics in Zamfara and possibly beyond, given his history as a vocal political figure.
