Presidency has affirmed that beginning from January, local governments will receive their allocation directly from the Federal Government
The Special Adviser to he President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare revealed this while speaking during an interview on Arise News.
According to him,the President has ensured that by the end of January local governments will get their allocations straight from the Federal Government.
Dare therefore advised that the public should turn their radar to the the leadership of local and state government, as well as the federal government.
Stressing the need for the state and local governments to be up and doing, he said “We can talk about what the federal government is doing, the support it has been given, and even helping states to pay salary.”
Speaking on the issue of tax, Dare said “I think the conversation should go to – federal government collect all these taxes but doesn’t take 100 percent of it.”
“The Federal Government cannot take care of the entire country, so the governors have executive powers and they have responsibilities. What are the states doing?”
On the issue of subsidy removal and the funds saved same it, Dare said that money from the subsidy can be seen in the figures of the allocations that are bee distributed every month, and that a figure that cannot be ignored, he added
“There are also two legacy road projects where- the coastal project and the Sokoto-Badagry Project.”
