The Lagos State University (LASU) Senate has indefinitely suspended the 2024/2025 second semester examinations and all socio-academic activities following the ongoing industrial action by the Joint Action Committee of staff unions.
According to a statement issued by the university, the exams scheduled to begin on Monday, August 4, 2025, have been postponed, and all students residing in hostels have been instructed to vacate by 6:00 a.m. the same day.
The Senate stated that the strike action is directed at the Lagos State Government, not the university management. Dialogue efforts are ongoing, with a high-level meeting scheduled to reconvene on Thursday, August 7, 2025, to seek resolution.
The university urged all students and members of the community to remain calm and law-abiding during this period of suspension.
