The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has called on Nigerians to embrace community policing strategies and report suspicious activities promptly to aid national security efforts.
He made this appeal during a courtesy visit by the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), led by the wife of the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Elizabeth Egbetokun, at his palace over the weekend.
The monarch emphasized the importance of moral upbringing and spiritual values, especially among children of police officers, while commending POWA for their recently concluded three-day national conference held in Lagos.
Dr. Egbetokun, in her remarks, thanked the Oba for his support and stated that the conference provided a platform to strategize on ways POWA members could assist their spouses in maintaining national security.
