The Lagos State Government will divert traffic along Osborne Road, Ikoyi, from Friday, August 15, to Sunday, August 17, to connect new drains on Modupe Alakija Crescent to the underground drainage channel on Osborne Road.
Transportation Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi said the work involves cutting a section of Osborne Road before Foreshore Towers to install a cross culvert. Construction will start at 10:00 p.m. on August 15 and finish by midnight on August 17, with the road fully reopening on Monday, August 18.
A counterflow traffic arrangement will be implemented over a 100-meter stretch from Modupe Alakija Crescent to Alfred Rewane Road junction. Motorists heading from Alfred Rewane Road to Osborne will use a contraflow lane, while those traveling in the opposite direction will be limited to one lane.
Alternative routes include Oba Adeyemi Oyekan Avenue, Glover Road, Lugard Avenue, and Cameron Road for both directions. LASTMA officials will manage traffic to minimise disruption.
The project is part of efforts to improve drainage infrastructure in the area and prevent flooding.
