Activist Martins Otse, popularly called VeryDarkMan (VDM), has said that N180 million was missing from his NGO’s account after it was hacked.
Speaking In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, Otse said that the NGO’s website was hacked and funds were diverted into an unknown account.
“Honestly, I’ve not been myself for the past few days. Somebody hacked into the NGO website. I don’t know how they did it and N180 million is missing”
“Thank God we have tracked the person, and we are on our way to Jos.. One of the suspects has been arrested. That’s why I am even excited to let you know what’s going on.
“The account has been put on PND (Post No Debit). The account now has N20 million in it, while N160 million was diverted. We’re going to Jos to see how we can recover the money.”
Otse further explained that he had to shut down the NGO’s app for maintenance to prevent further breaches and promised to provide updates on the situation.
Recall that Otse had launched the Martins Vincent Osei initiative in October with over N35 million in donations within hours after its lunch and the announcement of N100 million contribution from music producer, Don Jazzy.
