Unidentified assailants have tragically killed Paul Offor, a prominent community leader and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Issele-Azagba, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State.
The gruesome incident occurred on Tuesday night at Offor’s office, located at the entrance of the town along the Benin-Asaba highway. The office served as the venue for his Point of Sale (POS) and real estate businesses.
The crime was discovered on Wednesday morning when concerned relatives, unable to locate him at home, inquired at his business premises. They found his lifeless body in the office, where he had been stabbed to death. The door to the office had been shut, possibly leading neighbors to assume he had left for the day, as he frequently worked alone.
News of Offor’s death spread quickly, sparking widespread shock and grief among residents. A crowd gathered at the scene to witness the aftermath of the tragedy. Local police eventually arrived to secure the area and transported the body to the mortuary.
Offor was a respected figure in the community, known for his amiable personality and dedication as a devout Christian and member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Issele-Azagba. His untimely demise has left the community reeling.
Calls to Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, for further details about the incident went unanswered at the time of this report. The motive behind the killing and the identity of the perpetrators remain unknown as investigations continue.
