The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in collaboration with the Association of Pharmaceutical Chemists, has successfully destroyed expired drugs valued at over N800,000 in Gumel Local Government Area, Jigawa State.
During the event, the chairman of the Gumel Local Government Council, Alhaji Lawan Ya’u Abdullahi, emphasized the council’s unwavering commitment to protecting public health. He highlighted the importance of joint efforts in creating a healthier society, urging stakeholders to remain steadfast in their contributions.
The chairman of the local chapter of the Association of Pharmaceutical Chemists, Malam Bashari Dahiru Gagarawa, expressed his gratitude to the state and local governments for their consistent support in advancing healthcare delivery. He stressed the importance of such initiatives in ensuring expired and unsafe drugs are responsibly managed to prevent harm to the public.
