Information Commissioners from APC-controlled states have lauded President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its decisive and strategic reforms, which they described as producing positive outcomes and establishing a solid framework for national development. This commendation came during the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) Quarterly Strategy Meeting held at the PGF Secretariat in Asokoro, Abuja, from April 24-25, 2025.
The meeting, aimed at refining strategic communication and ensuring policy alignment across APC states, was convened under the coordination of the PGF Secretariat. It served as a platform for peer review, state-level experience sharing, and innovation in communication models. It also focused on harmonizing messaging strategies that reinforce good governance, policy alignment, and democratic accountability across APC states in furtherance of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.
A communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, shared with Persecondnews, emphasized the appreciation for Nigerians’ resilience, patience, and unwavering support. The commissioners acknowledged the positive effects of the administration’s bold economic reforms that are now becoming evident across the nation.
The forum reiterated its loyalty to the Progressive Governors and affirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and performance-based governance. Furthermore, they pledged to continually engage citizens, counter harmful narratives, and celebrate the progress made under the APC at all levels of governance.
One of the major outcomes of the meeting was the adoption of the PGF National Value Reorientation Campaign, aimed at recalibrating the moral, social, and civic ethos of Nigerians. The campaign will focus on rebuilding public trust, reviving patriotic consciousness, and instilling a sense of responsible citizenship as a key driver of development.
The commissioners agreed to domesticate and drive the campaign in their respective states by leveraging strategic messaging, inter-state collaboration, and grassroots engagement. They also underscored the importance of continuous capacity building and the institutionalization of a quarterly APC States Communication Strategy Review Forum, coordinated by the PGF Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by commissioners from various APC-controlled states, including Gbenga Omotoso (Lagos), Sagir Musa Ahmed (Jigawa), Kayode Akinmade (Ogun), Kingsley Femi Fanwo (Kogi), and Erasmus Ekpang (Cross River), among others. The Director General of PGF, Folorunso S. Aluko, also participated in the forum.
