A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by David Mark has rejected moves to delist the party, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) acted under pressure from the government.
The group described the decision as unjust, insisting that the commission “bowed to external influence” rather than adhering strictly to constitutional and legal provisions guiding party registration. It maintained that the ADC remains a valid political platform and vowed to challenge the action.
The development adds to growing tensions between political parties and electoral authorities, with the Mark-led faction warning that such actions could undermine democratic principles and political pluralism in the country.
