Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and formally registered as a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kefas completed his registration on Sunday, receiving his APC membership card from state party executives. He said a public declaration rally would be held at a later date to formally present him to supporters and stakeholders.
Speaking after his registration, the governor said his decision was driven by a desire to align with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda and to better position Taraba State for federal support.
“My decision to join the APC is based on the need to key into President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision. I believe this alignment will help us attract more development projects and resources to Taraba State,” he said.
Party officials in Taraba welcomed the move, describing Kefas’s defection as a major boost for the APC’s strength and influence in the North-East state.
