Vice President Teodoro Obiang Mangue of Equatorial Guinea has warned civil servants against engaging in sexual acts in their offices. This warning came after several sex videos involving Mr Engonga were leaked to the public.
According to the BBC, Mr. Baltasar Ebang Engonga who is the head of the country’s National Finance Investigation Agency and also a relation of the president was seen on tape having sex with various women – including the wives of prominent officials, in his office.
A statement released by the vice president said that any civil servant found engaging in a sexual act would be suspended as such an act is a flagrant violation of the office code of conduct. And that he had recommended opening an investigation on the circulating videos, which had “denigrated the image of the country.
The vice president further ordered the installation of surveillance cameras in courts and ministries to prevent illicit acts.
According to state television TVGE, the sex videos in question were leaked after Engonga was arrested on several corruption charges.
