Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel’s campaign has crippled Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities, claiming Tehran “no longer has the capacity to enrich uranium and manufacture ballistic missiles.”
Speaking at a televised press conference, Netanyahu said Israel was “taking action to destroy the industries that make it possible to build missiles,” adding: “We are winning and Iran is being decimated.”
However, the claim is contested. Reuters reported that IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has pushed back on Israeli assertions that Iran’s nuclear capabilities have been eliminated, saying the agency’s assessments do not support the view that Iran has lost all nuclear capacity.
