The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Continent 3 has introduced a free digital skills empowerment initiative for 8,400 beneficiaries in celebration of the 84th birthday of its General Overseer, Enoch Adeboye.
The programme, set to begin on March 1, 2026, is designed to address unemployment and reduce the digital divide that continues to limit economic opportunities for many young Nigerians.
In a statement issued in Lagos, RCCG Continent 3 Overseer Johnson Funsho Odesola said the initiative forms part of activities marking Adeboye’s birthday and reflects his long-standing commitment to education, youth empowerment, and national development.
“By investing in digital capacity building, RCCG Continent 3 seeks to honour the General Overseer’s legacy of raising empowered, purpose-driven individuals who positively impact society,” Odesola said.
Participants will receive training in video editing, graphic design, digital marketing, social media management, animation, content creation, and digital monetisation — skills considered essential for employment and entrepreneurship in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
“This is not merely a birthday celebration — it is a strategic investment in the future of our nation,” he added. “By empowering 8,400 individuals with digital skills, we are creating pathways out of poverty and positioning Nigerians to compete in the global digital economy.”
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Love Transformation Academy, Olalekan Adebekun, said RCCG parishes across Continent 3 will serve as study centres, with training delivered via Zoom to enable participants to learn within their communities.
He noted that designated church facilities will support those without personal internet access or devices, while mentorship, follow-up, and integration opportunities will be provided to participants, including non-members.
Adebekun encouraged youths, students, job seekers, entrepreneurs, and the wider public to participate, noting the programme is expected to promote employment, support freelance careers, and nurture digital entrepreneurs and content creators.
The initiative is being coordinated by Love Transformation Academy in partnership with Faith Cometh Multimedia Consultants, combining grassroots church infrastructure with technical training to expand digital inclusion and support national development.
