President Bola Tinubu, addressing Nigerian troops in Katsina on Friday, delivered a firm message of defiance against terrorism and insurgency, declaring that Nigeria “will not capitulate to forces of terror, fear, or disloyalty.” Acknowledging the sacrifices of soldiers on the frontlines, Tinubu praised their courage as vital to safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and future.
“You are the shield of Nigeria,” he told the troops, “standing firm against terror, ensuring the future of our children.”
The president emphasized that the military’s mission goes beyond territorial control, describing it as “a battle for the soul of Nigeria.” He noted that each terrorist neutralized and each area secured is a step toward justice and national unity.
Recognizing the hardships faced by military personnel, Tinubu pledged continued investment in weapons, intelligence, and logistics, alongside a strong focus on troop welfare. He cited ongoing improvements in pay, insurance, family support, and housing as proof of his administration’s commitment.
He also issued a strong warning to both domestic and foreign actors working to destabilize the country: “Let the enemies of Nigeria know their time is up… We will not bow—not to fear, not to terror, not to treachery.”
Tinubu concluded by urging the soldiers to stand tall and stay resolute, stating, “Nigeria depends on you, and I am with you every step of the way.”
