The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has terminated the service of 43 personnel for breaches of discipline, including desertion, scandalous behaviour, and patrol-related misconduct.
In a statement on Thursday, Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer Olusegun Ogungbemide said, “The affected officers comprise 31 dismissed for desertion, five for scandalous behaviour, and seven for patrol-related misconduct.”
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed described the action as a “bold reaffirmation of the Corps’ zero tolerance stance against indiscipline and ethical violations.” He emphasized that “desertion represents a grave breach of service oath and operational responsibility,” while noting that scandalous behaviour and patrol misconduct “erode public confidence and contradict the values of discipline, transparency, and service excellence upheld by the Corps.”
The FRSC stressed that it remains a professional paramilitary organisation guided by strict standards and warned that any officer violating these principles will face disciplinary action. The Corps also assured Nigerians of intensified monitoring, stronger supervision, and ongoing ethical reorientation to uphold public trust and road safety.
