The Edo State Police Command has arrested Inspector Ojo Oloruntobi and three civilians — Charles Onah, Joseph Ohis, and Enoma Agho — for alleged involvement in a series of armed robberies, extortions, and assaults in Benin City.
Their arrest followed a viral video where a victim claimed he was abducted by men in police uniforms, robbed of his phone, and intimidated. Acting on the directive of Commissioner CP Monday Agbonika, operatives from the Ugbowo Surveillance Team intercepted the suspects on August 15, 2025, seizing a silver Toyota Yaris and other incriminating items.
Police PRO Moses Yamu confirmed the arrests, stressing that the suspects would face prosecution and reaffirming the command’s zero tolerance for corruption and abuse of power.
“The arrested officer and his collaborators will face the full wrath of the law. There will be no hiding place for rogue elements within the Force,” Yamu declared.
