President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, ordered an investigation to uncover the circumstances that led to last Saturday’s attack on the Sabon Gidan, Damboa army base that left six soldiers dead.
Tinubu while commiserating with the military over the loss, also directed the authorities to further investig ate the unfortunate incident and ensure that it serves as a valuable lesson to prevent similar occurrences.
President Tinubu commended the armed forces swift and decisive response, particularly the air component, in launching effective retaliatory strikes, with targeted air raids, which neutralised the terrorists and destroyed their weapons.
The President also urged the military to proactively take the war to the camps of bandits and terrorists, with particular the North West, where they continue to threaten the lives innocent villagers.
He said, “This resolute action by the Army demonstrates the capability and readiness of our military to confront and defeat threats to our nation’s security. Their actions testify to our resolve to eradicate terrorism and banditry, paving the way for a future where peace and security prevail for all Nigerians.”

The President, in a statement by his Special Adviser on information and strategy condoled with the families of the fallen soldiers and assured that the men who sacrificed their lives in defending the nation, will forever be honoured and remembered.
Tinubu urged Nigerians and the media to support the military’s efforts to restore peace and security in the country.
