The All Progressives Congress (APC) has closed its national secretariat in Abuja to mourn the death of its Director of Administration, Hon. AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji, who was kidnapped in February 2025 and killed despite a ₦50 million ransom payment. Adeniji was abducted in the Kubwa area of Abuja, and his captors reportedly concealed his death while continuing ransom negotiations. The secretariat will remain closed until Monday, April 14, 2025, as a period of mourning.
This incident has intensified concerns over Nigeria’s security situation and renewed calls for the establishment of state police to address rising kidnappings and violent crimes.
