Founder of Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, has dismissed claims that his aircraft was purchased using church members’ offerings.
In a resurfaced video, reportedly recorded in 2024, Oyedepo clarified that the aircraft was acquired through divine provision, not financial planning, fundraising, or personal ambition. He emphasized that there was no pressure on church members to contribute to the purchase, stating:
“The offering didn’t buy it oo! God bought it. There was no person contacted under heaven. No! God said it, and I believed it—that settles it.”
Oyedepo further explained that acquiring the aircraft was not a personal pursuit, but a divinely orchestrated event. He revealed that if God had asked him about purchasing an aircraft, he would have hesitated, as it was never part of his plans.
“It wasn’t an ambition, it was an unveiled divine agenda. If God asked me, ‘David, when do you want that aircraft to be bought?’ I would have said, ‘God, take it easy, take it easy, we are not near ready. Aircraft?'”
He added that there was not even time to research the cost of an aircraft before it was provided, emphasizing that it was not an ordinary aircraft but one suited for greater missions.
In 2024, Oyedepo also announced that the Federal Government had approved the construction of an airstrip for Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, further expanding the church’s infrastructure.
