The Super Eagles of Nigeria, yesterday, qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco following a 1–0 win by Libya over Rwanda in Kigali.
Recall that the Super Eagles of Nigeria were awarded 3 points as a punishment to the Libya FA for the cruel treatment given to the Super Eagles in Libya. And yesterday, Another favour.
The qualification was confirmed before the match between Nigeria and Benin Republic that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Nigeria currently tops Group D with 11 points, followed by Benin with 7 points, Rwanda with 5 points, and Libya at the bottom with 4 points.
With one match standing for each team, the results of yesterday’s matches make it impossible for both Benin and Rwanda to top the group even if they win their standings.
However, the Cheetahs of Benin are in contention for the second spot.
