The Professional Game Match Officials Limited, PGMOL has sacked a Premier League referee, David Coote for breach of his contract code of conduct.
A statement released by PGMOL on December 9, 2024, reads – “Following the conclusion of a thorough investigation into David Coote’s conduct, his employment with PGMOL has been terminated today with immediate effect.”
According to the statement, David Coote’s actions were found to be in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract, with his position deemed untenable.
“Supporting David Coote continues to be important to us and we remain committed to his welfare.”
David Coote has a right to appeal the decision to terminate his employment, the statement added.
There are also other allegations against Coote, including Coote discussing with a supporter that he gave a yellow card to a team before a game between Leads and West Brom in 2019.
