Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has been hospitalized after feeling unwell for several days. He was admitted on Friday evening and remains under medical care for ongoing tests. The club confirmed that Howe is conscious, communicating with his family, and receiving expert medical attention. As a result, Howe will miss Newcastle’s Premier League match against Manchester United at St James’ Park on Sunday. Assistant manager Jason Tindall and first-team coach Graeme Jones will oversee the team in his absence.
This marks only the second time Howe has missed a match since his appointment in November 2021—the first being due to a positive COVID-19 test. Under his leadership, Newcastle has achieved significant milestones, including Premier League safety, Champions League qualification, and winning their first domestic trophy in 70 years with a Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool. The club has extended its best wishes to Howe for a speedy recovery and will provide further updates on his condition in due course.
