The Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has announced cash and land rewards for players of Rangers International FC following their success in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), in recognition of what he described as their outstanding performance and contribution to the state’s sporting pride.
The announcement was made during a reception organised to celebrate the team’s achievement, where the governor praised the players, technical crew, and management for their discipline and commitment throughout the season.
Mbah stated that each player would receive a parcel of land as well as a collective cash reward of ₦100 million, aimed at motivating the team and encouraging sustained excellence in Nigerian football.
He said the gesture was part of the state government’s broader plan to invest in sports development and reward excellence across different sectors.
“We are proud of what you have achieved for Enugu State and for Nigerian football.”
The governor added that the victory of Rangers International FC symbolises the resilience and competitive spirit of the state, noting that sports remain a key tool for youth engagement and unity.
Officials at the event also commended the team’s management for maintaining stability and professionalism, which they said contributed significantly to their successful campaign.
