Rose Idibia, mother of Nigerian music icon 2Baba, has voiced her disapproval of her son’s recent engagement to Edo lawmaker, Natasha Osarawu, insisting that he is clearly not in his right senses,. and also calling on Natasha to remove the beads she put on her son’s hand and neck to set him free.
In a viral video shared by Charles Idibia, 2Baba’s younger brother, Mrs. Idibia expressed concern over her son’s actions, stressing that he is currently going through a divorce process and that his engagement does not reflect the person she knows.
Earlier this month, 2Baba confirmed his separation from Annie Idibia and later announced his decision to marry Osarawu. The singer has since reaffirmed his commitment to the lawmaker, denying speculations that she played a role in his marital troubles.
A widely circulated video of the proposal, which surfaced on Thursday, showed 2Baba in a celebratory mood as he embraced Osarawu, sprayed money on her, and danced before kneeling to place a ring on her finger, while onlookers cheered.
However, Mrs. Idibia, appearing visibly distressed in another viral clip, pleaded with Nigerian mothers to intervene, urging Osarawu to release her son from what she believes to be an undue influence. In her emotional appeal, she said:
“This message is for Ms. Natasha Osarawu of Edo State. I am calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son.”
“Please, Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and neck, remove them and let him go.”
However, Osarawu has not respond to this recent development
