Family of Peju Ogunmola Sets the Record Straight on Son’s Death.
The family of veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has addressed the widespread rumors surrounding the sudden death of her only son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle.
The Nollywood industry was thrown into mourning days ago after news of Ayomikun’s passing surfaced online. However, contrary to several reports alleging that he died in the UK after suffering a bathroom accident, the family has officially refuted these claims.
In a statement released by the family’s spokesperson, Yemi Amodu, they clarified that Ayomikun died in Ibadan, Nigeria, after a brief illness and has since been laid to rest.
Official Statement from the Family:
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle (son of Sunday & Peju Ogunmola Omobolanle), a jewel, a precious child, and a rising star whose light shone brightly and touched many lives.
We wish to clearly state that Sola did not pass away as a result of any bathroom accident, contrary to false reports being circulated online. He was briefly unwell and, during this period, received first-class medical care. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he peacefully answered the call of his Creator.
He passed away at a hospital in Ibadan and has since been laid to rest at eternal Rest Home.”
The family also appealed to the public and bloggers to disregard misleading stories suggesting Ayomikun died from a bathroom fall, emphasizing that such reports dishonor his memory and cause unnecessary pain.
“We strongly urge the public to ignore these unfounded claims. These misleading stories not only dishonour his memory but also bring more pain to his loved ones,” the statement added.
