Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday sealed off the street leading to the Abuja residence of Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney‑General of the Federation, significantly restricting movement around the neighbourhood.
Eyewitnesses reported that EFCC officers arrived in several buses and positioned themselves along Koranakh Close, off Amazon Street in the Maitama district, effectively barring residents and visitors from entering the area.
A heavy security presence was maintained throughout the operation, which sources tied to the anti‑graft agency’s ongoing investigations into alleged financial misconduct involving the ex‑AGF.
The action follows earlier legal moves by the EFCC against Malami in relation to accusations of corruption and money laundering, though further official details from the commission remain pending.
