Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the death of its spokesman, Ali Mohammad Naini, following what it described as a joint United States and Israeli attack.
According to Iranian state media, Naini was killed in an early-morning strike, with the IRGC portraying his death as an “honourable martyrdom.”
The paramilitary force said the attack formed part of ongoing military operations targeting senior Iranian figures, amid escalating hostilities in the region. Reports indicate that the strike occurred shortly after Naini issued a defiant message asserting that Iran’s missile and military capabilities remained intact despite sustained attacks.
Naini, a brigadier general, served as the IRGC’s chief spokesman and deputy head of public relations, acting as a key voice for the organisation during the current conflict. His killing marks one of the latest high-profile losses among Iran’s military leadership in recent days.
The United States and Israel have not immediately provided detailed public comment on the specific strike, but both countries have intensified operations targeting Iranian military infrastructure and personnel.
The development underscores rising tensions in the Middle East, with analysts warning that the continued targeting of senior officials could further deepen the conflict and complicate prospects for de-escalation.
