Iran has reiterated its determination to press its military campaign “until complete victory,” rejecting any notion of an early end to hostilities, according to Iranian statements amid the intensifying war in the Middle East. Tehran’s position was made clear as diplomatic efforts to curb the violence show limited progress and violence continues across multiple fronts.
Iranian officials denied participation in formal negotiations with the United States despite claims from Washington that preliminary talks had taken place, underscoring Tehran’s insistence on pressing its strategic objectives before considering any ceasefire.
The conflict, which has seen missile and drone launches by Iran targeting Israel and Gulf states and retaliatory air strikes on Iranian targets, has disrupted oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz and driven global fuel prices higher.
Civilians on all sides continue to suffer. Reported casualties include more than 1,500 deaths in Iran, 1,000 in Lebanon, and additional losses in Israel, alongside U.S. military casualties, illustrating the high human cost as fighting persists.
U.S. military actions remain active in the region, even as President Donald Trump delayed certain strikes to allow diplomatic space. Meanwhile, efforts by countries such as Pakistan to facilitate peace talks have yet to produce a breakthrough.
Iran’s unyielding stance highlights deep divisions over how — or whether — the war will de‑escalate, leaving prospects for an imminent settlement uncertain.
