President Bola Tinubu has granted an extension to Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap’s tenure as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), allowing her to remain in office until December 31, 2026.
This announcement was made in a statement on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Nandap was initially appointed to the role by Tinubu on March 1, 2024, with her term originally set to end on August 31, 2025.
“Under her leadership, the Nigeria Immigration Service has witnessed significant advancements in its core mandate, with notable improvements in border management, modernisation of immigration processes and national security measures.
“President Tinubu commended the Comptroller-General for her exemplary leadership and urged her to continue dedicating herself to the Service’s strategic priorities, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement said.
The statement further emphasized Tinubu’s continued commitment to strengthening the Nigeria Immigration Service, ensuring it remains effective in safeguarding the nation’s borders and facilitating safe, legal, and organized migration.
Nandap’s career in the Nigeria Immigration Service began on October 9, 1989, and she has since played a key role in advancing the agency’s objectives.
