Jibrin described his dismissal by the NNPP Kano State chapter as a “rude shock,” rooted in allegations of anti-party conduct and non-payment of dues. Crucially, he stressed that no party organ invited him to explain or defend himself, a move he labeled a clear violation of fair hearing and due process. He noted that even under military rule, accused individuals are entitled to some form of hearing, implying that even stronger standards should apply within democratic party process. Although deeply disappointed, Jibrin chose to accept the decision “in good faith and without grudges.” He appealed for an amicable parting, urging the party to let him leave peacefully without personal attacks or further escalations.
When it came to the dues allegation, Jibrin denied refusing to pay and requested the party forward an invoice for any outstanding balance, promising prompt settlement and discouraging any costly court disputes. Jibrin thanked the NNPP for past support and invited those willing to follow him to his future political path—while promising to maintain harmonious relations with those remaining in the party. He plans to weigh his options carefully before disclosing his next political move.
