Nigeria’s Super Falcons have made history yet again, becoming the first African team to win the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 10 times, following a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over hosts Morocco in Friday night’s final in Rabat.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Falcons launched an inspired second-half performance to complete their ambition. Esther Okoronkwo ignited the turnaround in the 64th minute, followed by an equalizer from Folashade Ijamilusi after a dazzling solo assist by Okoronkwo.
With just two minutes left in regulation time, substitute Jennifer Echegini sealed the win, capitalizing on a powerful long-range freekick from Okoronkwo to snatch victory and stun the home crowd.
The dramatic win reaffirms Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football and marks another proud chapter in the Super Falcons’ legacy.
