The New York Knicks advanced to the Eastern Conference finals with a dominant 144-114 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, completing a 4-0 sweep in their semifinal series.
New York closed the series in emphatic fashion, producing one of its strongest offensive performances of the playoffs. The Knicks’ three-point shooting powered the rout, with the team reportedly tying the NBA playoff record by making 25 shots from beyond the arc.
The result capped a commanding series for the Knicks, who beat Philadelphia 137-98 in Game 1, 108-102 in Game 2, 108-94 in Game 3 and 144-114 in Game 4.
Jalen Brunson again led New York’s charge after starring throughout the matchup. He had scored 33 points and added nine assists in Game 3, helping the Knicks move to the brink of the sweep before Sunday’s clincher.
The win sends the Knicks to the Eastern Conference finals for the second straight season and strengthens their case as one of the leading contenders in this year’s playoffs. For Philadelphia, the defeat ends a disappointing postseason run in the second round.
