Liverpool FC have officially unveiled Alexander Isak as their latest signing, completing a record-breaking deal that has captured global attention. The Swedish striker joins the Premier League champions from Newcastle United for a massive £130 million, setting a new British transfer record.
After passing his medical on Monday, Isak was presented to fans at Anfield, where he expressed his excitement about beginning a new chapter.
“Joining Liverpool is a dream come true. I want to give everything for this badge and help the team win more trophies,” Isak said during the unveiling.
The 25-year-old forward arrives at Liverpool after an impressive season in which he scored 23 Premier League goals, finishing just behind Mohamed Salah in the Golden Boot race. With his pace, movement, and clinical finishing, he is expected to add firepower to Jürgen Klopp’s attack.
This transfer also surpasses the previous Premier League record of £106 million, paid by Chelsea for Enzo Fernandez in 2023. Therefore, Isak’s arrival not only strengthens Liverpool’s frontline but also sends a clear signal of intent to their rivals.
Furthermore, his signing comes during a summer of heavy investment by the Reds. Alongside Isak, Liverpool have secured the services of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez. As a result, Klopp now has greater squad depth to compete both domestically and in Europe.
With Isak leading the line, Liverpool fans are hopeful the team can defend their Premier League crown while also pushing for UEFA Champions League glory.
