Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has dismissed two Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) after investigative committees found them guilty of separate acts of misconduct.
According to Secretary to the State Government Umar Farouk, one aide was removed for his role in securing the controversial bail of suspected drug baron Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu, while the other was sacked for diverting palliative grains meant for vulnerable residents.
In the same statement, the government cleared Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainage, of all allegations, following a committee’s report affirming his innocence.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s “unwavering commitment to discipline, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption,” warning all public officials to maintain the highest standards of integrity in both their official and private conduct.
The public has been advised not to engage the dismissed aides on any matter concerning the Kano State Government, with a caution that doing so would be at their own risk.
The development follows last week’s resignation of State Commissioner for Transportation Ibrahim Namadi, who was also implicated in the bail of the suspected drug baron.
