The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the successful execution of targeted airstrikes that dismantled Boko Haram enclaves in the Southern Tumbuns of Borno State. The operations were carried out on June 5 and 6, 2025, as part of Operation Hadin Kai.
In a statement released on Saturday, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, who serves as the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, disclosed that the mission was based on reliable intelligence.
“Acting on credible intelligence, NAF aircraft targeted terrorist structures reportedly used for storage and coordination by the terrorists,” he said.
The precision strikes, which hit locations in Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia, effectively thwarted the insurgents’ plans to launch attacks during the upcoming Eid celebrations.
“The air strikes delivered direct hits, crippling planned attacks aimed at disrupting Eid celebrations,” Ejodame added.
According to the NAF, a post-strike assessment confirmed that numerous terrorists were eliminated and significant logistical hubs belonging to the group were destroyed.
“Battle Damage Assessments confirmed the neutralisation of several terrorists and the destruction of key logistics structures,” he confirmed.
Ejodame emphasized that this proactive campaign reflects the Air Force’s ongoing dedication to national security and the protection of civilian lives.
“This pre-emptive action underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and supporting national security objectives,” he concluded.
