Barcelona winger Raphinha has been crowned La Liga’s Player of the Year following an impressive campaign that helped the Catalan giants secure a domestic double.
Now in his third season at the club since arriving from Leeds United, the 28-year-old Brazilian registered 18 goals and nine assists, proving instrumental in Barça’s success. Known for his relentless energy on the flank, Raphinha has built a reputation not just as a dynamic dribbler but also for his tireless defensive contributions.
Despite speculation surrounding a possible departure during the last transfer window, Raphinha remained at Camp Nou. New manager Hansi Flick not only kept him at the club but elevated him to a leadership role.
Raphinha’s turnaround was sealed when Flick made a bold move: “Hansi Flick named him captain and offered him an extension until July 2028.”
In addition to Raphinha’s accolade, Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal was recognised as the best player under the age of 23, adding to the club’s individual honors this season.
