Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stressed that mutual trust is essential for any meaningful negotiations to resolve the ongoing regional conflict, according to Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s office.
The remarks came during a phone conversation lasting more than an hour with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where both leaders discussed the escalating hostilities and diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring stability.
Pezeshkian emphasized that building trust is a prerequisite for successful mediation and dialogue, while also commending Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach in seeking a peaceful resolution.
In response, Sharif briefed the Iranian leader on Islamabad’s ongoing engagements with the United States and Gulf nations, as part of broader efforts to facilitate negotiations and de-escalate tensions.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared concern over the conflict and underscored the importance of continued dialogue to achieve a lasting settlement.
