President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigeria’s political leaders to prioritize the welfare of the nation’s poor and vulnerable. During a Ramadan dinner at the State House in Abuja, attended by governors, cabinet members, and military chiefs, Tinubu emphasized the need for selfless leadership amid economic challenges.

He praised the positive impact of ongoing reforms, attributing successes to collaboration between federal and state leaders. Tinubu likened leaders to navigators guiding Nigeria toward prosperity and stressed the importance of leaving a lasting legacy of service.

“I recall in our first FEC meeting, I said we were going to work hard to fetch water from a dry well. We are still working hard to ensure that there is water to drink and that we spend money, not the people,” he said, highlighting his administration’s commitment to easing citizens’ burdens.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, chair of the Nigeria Governors Forum, commended Tinubu’s decisive economic policies, while Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi noted steady declines in food prices, signaling tangible benefits from the reforms.

Tinubu’s message was clear: leaders must unite, intensify efforts, and remain steadfast in delivering real progress for all Nigerians.
