Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have apprehended two key suspects linked to the brutal killing of 16 travelers in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State last week.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Friday Ituah, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Tuesday, revealing that the suspects were captured in Uromi based on credible intelligence. Security agencies are still pursuing other individuals involved in the attack.

The arrested suspects have been transferred to Abuja for further questioning and prosecution by the appropriate authorities.

On Monday, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo visited Kano State to offer condolences to the government and families of the victims. During his visit, he disclosed that 14 other suspects had already been detained and were also being moved to Abuja for further investigation.

Vowing that justice would be served, Governor Okpebholo reassured the bereaved families that all those responsible would be held accountable. He also promised that adequate compensation would be provided to the victims’ families.
