Air Peace to Repatriate Trafficked Nigerian Girls from Ivory Coast at No Cost
Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace Group, has pledged to fly home Nigerian underage girls who were recently discovered to have been trafficked to the Ivory Coast—completely free of charge.
Sharing his commitment through a statement posted on the airline’s official X account, Onyema expressed outrage over the disturbing revelations and called on society to stand united against the crime of human trafficking.
“We should discourage trafficking of any kind. It is inhumane and callous. It is ungodly and a good example of man’s inhumanity to man,” he stated.
Onyema assured that Air Peace is ready to facilitate the return of the victims back to Nigeria without requiring any payment. “We, in Air Peace, are ready to bring our fellow citizens back home free of charge,” he declared.
Beyond the free flights, Onyema revealed that the airline will sponsor the girls’ medical care once they are safely back in Nigeria. “Besides that, we will send all of them to Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja for free medical examination and treatment,” he added.
He urged the Nigerian Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire to help coordinate the effort by identifying and gathering the affected girls and reaching out to Air Peace for logistics.
“While we implore the Nigerian Embassy in Cote D’Ivoire to assemble them and reach out to us, we equally call on the Federal Government to take charge of their education while reuniting them with their families,” Onyema appealed.
His statement has been widely praised on social media, where many users described his gesture as a powerful example of private sector compassion and patriotism in action.
