Paris Saint-Germain and France winger Ousmane Dembélé has been awarded the 2025 Ballon d’Or at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, edging Barcelona’s teenage star Lamine Yamal to the men’s game’s top individual honor. Dembélé, 28, becomes the first French winner since Karim Benzema in 2022, after a season in which he played a pivotal role in PSG’s historic first UEFA Champions League title and a sweep of domestic silverware. In an emotional speech, he credited his teammates and coach Luis Enrique, calling the accolade “a collective achievement.”
Lamine Yamal, 18, won the Kopa Trophy for a second consecutive year, recognizing him as the world’s best men’s U21 player following a standout campaign for club and country.
The night also saw Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí claim a third straight Ballon d’Or Féminin, while PSG collected multiple accolades amid recognition of their treble-winning season.
