Singer d4vd (pronounced “David”), born David Anthony Burke, has had the last two dates of his U.S. tour and several shows on his upcoming European leg removed from major ticketing platforms as Los Angeles authorities investigate the discovery of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s decomposed body earlier this month. Police have not said d4vd is implicated in the death.
Venue and ticketing pages for his San Francisco show on Friday and Los Angeles date on Saturday listed the events as canceled or removed; his previously scheduled Grammy Museum appearance also no longer appears on the museum’s website. Several European stops — including the Oct. 1 Oslo opener — are now marked canceled on Ticketmaster, while some dates in Sweden, France, Poland, and Australia remain on sale as of Friday. The singer had been touring behind his April debut album, “Withered.” AP News
Rivas, who was reported missing in April 2024, was identified this week after her body was found inside an impounded Tesla in Los Angeles. Several outlets reported the vehicle was registered to d4vd, though police have not publicly confirmed ownership and have not charged the artist. An unnamed representative told NBC Los Angeles that d4vd is cooperating with investigators. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined a cause of death.
d4vd rose to prominence with the 2022 viral hit “Romantic Homicide,” which peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, and later signed with Darkroom/Interscope, releasing the EPs “Petals to Thorns” and “The Lost Petals.”
Fans holding tickets are being advised to check directly with venues and ticketing providers for refund and status information while the investigation continues.
