Nigeria’s Super Falcons solidified their dominance in African women’s football by capturing a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title on Saturday night in Rabat, Morocco, with a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over the host nation in the tournament final.
The thrilling victory was accompanied by multiple individual honors for Nigeria’s standout performers, underscoring their all-around brilliance throughout the tournament.

- Most Valuable Player (MVP): Rasheedat Ajibade (Nigeria)
- Best Goalkeeper: Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria)
- Golden Boot: Ghizlane Chebbak (Morocco) – 5 goals

Ajibade, Nigeria’s captain and attacking talisman, was named MVP for her leadership and match-winning contributions, including three Woman of the Match awards. Her relentless energy and creativity powered Nigeria’s unbeaten run.
Nnadozie, only 23, earned Best Goalkeeper, conceding just two goals in open play—both in the final—and delivering key saves during Nigeria’s tight semi-final clash against defending champions South Africa.
Despite Morocco’s loss in the final, Ghizlane Chebbak was awarded the Golden Boot with five goals, while South Africa received the Fair Play Award for their sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
With 10 wins in 10 WAFCON final appearances, Nigeria reaffirms its position as the undisputed powerhouse of African women’s football.
