Roman Lavrynovych, a 21-year-old Ukrainian national, has been charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life, according to the Metropolitan Police.
🔹 Arrest Details:
Lavrynovych was arrested early Tuesday at an address in Sydenham, southeast London. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
🔹 Nature of the Incidents:
The charges relate to three separate fires, all linked to properties associated with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer:
- May 8 – A car previously owned by Sir Keir and sold to a neighbour was set alight on the street in Kentish Town.
- May 12 (01:35 BST) – A fire at Sir Keir’s former private residence, now rented by his sister-in-law, caused damage to the entrance.
- May 11 (03:00 BST) – A separate fire occurred at a former residence of Sir Keir in Islington from the 1990s. A person was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
Counter-Terrorism Involvement:
Given the targeting of a high-profile political figure, the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command is leading the investigation. No injuries were reported in the incidents, but police have treated the arsons as deliberate acts with the intent to endanger life
