NNEWI, Anambra — Nov. 8, 2025: Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, George Moghalu, lost at his polling unit as early results trickled in from Saturday’s election.
At PU 017, Uruagu Ward 1, Nnewi North LGA, where Moghalu voted, APGA’s Prof. Chukwuma Soludo led with 57 votes, while Moghalu polled 22. The remaining ballots were split among other parties.
The unit recorded 86 accredited voters out of 463 registered, reflecting a relatively low turnout at the location.
The figures form part of preliminary unit-level results as collation proceeds across the state. Official outcomes will be determined by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after ward, LGA, and state collation are completed.
Soludo, the incumbent under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, is seeking re-election. Sixteen parties are in the race. INEC has emphasized that only results announced at designated collation centers and the final declaration at the state level should be considered authoritative.
