The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says more than 95% of polling-unit results from Saturday’s Anambra governorship election have been uploaded to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
A check of the portal on Sunday showed steady progress in transmissions across all 21 local government areas. Out of 5,720 polling units listed on IReV, 5,472 had posted their Form EC8A result sheets—about 95.7%—reflecting improved turnaround times compared with previous election cycles.
INEC reiterated that results on IReV remain secured and verifiable throughout the process, stressing its commitment to a credible and transparent poll. The commission has repeatedly positioned the portal as a public transparency tool to let citizens, parties, and observers view unit-level results in real time.
With uploads nearing completion, attention now shifts to ward, local government and state collation, after which the Returning Officer is expected to announce the final outcome in line with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines.
The commission urged the public to rely on official channels for verified tallies and reminded stakeholders that only results declared by the duly appointed Returning Officer constitute the legally binding outcome.
