The Dangote Group has issued a fresh warning to truck drivers and transport operators over the unauthorised use of its company logo on vehicles not owned or operated by the company.
In a statement released on Friday, the conglomerate stressed that some individuals and independent truckers have been illegally branding their vehicles with the Dangote logo to gain access to restricted areas, evade security checks, or carry out fraudulent activities.
According to the company, this practice not only misleads the public but also poses a significant risk to Dangote’s reputation and security operations. The management explained that genuine Dangote trucks are easily identifiable and strictly monitored to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
“The use of Dangote’s logo on unauthorised trucks is strictly prohibited. We caution members of the public and law enforcement agencies to be vigilant, as perpetrators caught engaging in this act will face the full weight of the law,” the statement warned:
Furthermore, the company urged security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify checks on vehicles falsely bearing its logo. It also advised individuals and businesses to report any suspicious activity involving trucks branded in Dangote colours.
With its operations spanning cement, sugar, salt, and petroleum products, Dangote Group remains one of Africa’s largest industrial firms. The company reiterated that it would continue to protect its brand identity against misuse and fraudulent representation.
